Work Conference on Drowning Prevention
In order to effectively carry out safety education on preventing drowning and ensure the safety of students' lives, on April 10th, our school held a meeting on drowning prevention for the year 2025 in the conference room on the first floor of the administrative building.
Initially, the meeting required that each class immediately organize a ‘Cherish Life and Prevent Drowning’ themed class meeting, emphasizing to students that they should not swim alone without permission, do not swim with others without permission, do not swim without the accompaniment of parents or teachers, do not swim in unfamiliar waters, do not swim in waters without safety facilities or rescue personnel, and do not attempt to rescue students who are not proficient in swimming without permission. Meanwhile, we should make full use of various media such as class and parent WeChat groups, campus networks, exhibition boards and banners for comprehensive publicity. Also, it is necessary to help students master basic self-protection and self-rescue methods. Besides, the main responsibility for drowning prevention work should be further clarified with all departments coordinating and cooperating to weave a dense safety net for drowning prevention and ensure students' safety with all efforts.
Furthermore, the meeting emphasized that we should fully recognize the significance of the education and reminder work on drowning prevention, and ensure that safety awareness is ‘borne on the shoulders and kept in mind at heart’. Additionally, we are supposed to strictly implement the relevant documents issued by the higher authorities, and organize students to study knowledge on drowning prevention seriously. Moreover, the safety prevention measures must be fully and effectively implemented, and the education and reminder on drowning prevention should cover all aspects, starting from key personnel. On the other hand, we should take drowning prevention work as a regular task to be carried out. More remarkably, we should strengthen the management of students' attendance information during classes, and eliminate the phenomenon of absence. Last but not the least, we should enhance communication between schools and families, jointly build a safety defense line against drowning prevention and implement the ‘1530’ work well, with responsibilities assigned to individuals.
In summary, the convening of this meeting has enabled all of us to reach a consensus on the issue, strengthening the awareness of prevention among schools and teachers regarding drowning prevention work, and clarifying the responsibilities. Therefore, our school will continue to prioritize safety work and carry out education on drowning prevention in detail and earnestly, thus building a ‘defense wall’ to safeguard the safety of teachers and students.
